Looking Ahead...

I read a wonderful post today that made me think about what I teach my kids. Right now they are mine, but ever so slowly forces are vying for their allegiance. Who will win? An intoxicating culture that revolves around them? A sport that demands everything and promises to fulfill? Or an invisible God that loves them more than I do? I am looking ahead as one mom is looking back. Listen to her heart because it is filled with the wisdom of someone who traveled the road and knows...

  1. I read her blog, and it convicted me. I am lazy in my own walk. I think I am getting what I need by watching church online, and carrying a scripture in pocket everyday. I know those are good things but I feel convicted about my lazy relationship with the Lord. If I am lazy when it is only me, how will I be motivated when I have children. It is time for me to give my WHOLE self to my father. Thank you for putting this link in your blog. I love you.

  2. Hey girl! Sorry I have been out of touch. I can't seem to get a minute to sit at the computer these days. I did however find some time just now to read the link and am moved to change. Isn't it amazing how we all have such grand plans as mothers to be this wonderful spiritual force in our children's lives yet at the end of the day we find ourselves too fatigued to do anything. The reality is that we should look at our lives and think we are too tired not to allow God to be the center of our existence. It is only then that we have the endurance and strength to fight the great fight! Love you!

  3. I too read Marci's blog/posts. WOW.(!!!) And thank you for sending us there!
I was on Amy P.'s blog and read your words (i'm a friend of hers and her family) and I wanted to say something encouraging to YOU. But you, have sent me on a journey today, that has blessed me!!! God works His power, in any way He can!!!! Thank you for being the "path" for His love and affirmation today!!
And, let me pass on to you, what Amy's Susan has said in her blog..."we ARE doing the right thing for our kids, at the time it matters most"! So God Bless you and your family ~Kathryn Estrada

  6. I was more excited than you know. It's strange being the first friend with a baby, they love Max, and I know they love me but sometimes I am sure it is hard to relate. I mean its hard for me to remember life without Max, you know when my life didnt revolve around an 8PM bedtime, poop and the multitude of sicknesses we have picked up from daycare!

I wish we were closer too, I would love a Mom friend with a baby to play with Max. It is hard being a working mom because most mom ministries and play groups are oriented for SAHM. I so admire you for being strong and sane enough to Stay Home with TWO BOYS!!! Max alone wears me out.

It is AWESOME having Rob home. I will now obsessively check your blog, so keep on keeping it updated. You truly have a gift in writing and you are so honest, it is really hilarious, refreshing and reassuring all at once. I too have noticed everyone is slower to post since they are out and about in the sunshine. SO HAPPY TO FIND YOU!

    Always
    Jesi

  7. Oh and Happy Early Birthday!! You are not old though, I still remember you, Savanah and I laughing about how we felt old because we were older than all the kids on Real World! Haha!

And there is a blog tagged Rob somewhere in there where I mention your name! Some advice you gave us long ago that stuck!
    Muah!
    Jesi
